Levoit has crafted another fine-all-round budget contender in the Levoit Vital 100, with a classic console design concept. However, it hasn’t advanced much beyond the previous Levoit Core 300, and you may question why to buy it over the best air purifier in 2021. Well, let’s finish Levoit Vital 100 Review to find the answer.
Updated: The Levoit Core P350 is finally out, together with the sub-$50 Levoit LV-H128. It holds the same power as our today Levoit Vital 100, with the sleek cylindrical design from the Core 300 and an all-in-one air filter.
In Breathe Quality, we have reviewed all air purifiers under these sections. Also, we guarantee that:
- We do give honest reviews (both pros and cons) so anyone will guarantee to have the wisest choices.
- We do not (and never) exaggerate one product just to let you click the links and buy that product blindly.

PROS
- High fan power for the price
- Console air purifier – larger air filter
- Very quiet operation
- Strong performance
CONS
- Still no Smart Sensor
As the most proud product of Etekcity Group, Levoit is certainly the most popular air purifier brand in the whole North America market at the moment. Last year, they have released 5 consecutive air purifiers, with the Levoit Vital 100 being the latest. Now, let’s get back to the Levoit Vital 100 Review.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 PRICE
After the update of Levoit LV-PUR131S with Wi-Fi Smart Control, and the two greatest budget contenders Levoit Core 300 and Levoit Vista 200, it is safe to say Levoit has dominated the low-range game. Then the honest question would be: What is the mission of this new Levoit Vital 100?
Perhaps, Levoit wants to get back the console air purifier design concept into play, and uses the Levoit Vital 100 as the key element for anyone who can’t afford the Smart LV-PUR131. This air purifier adopts a similar philosophy, with an even more wallet-friendly price tag.
This isn’t new approach from Levoit, they have been long successful with their Levoit LV-H126, as a cheap version of the best seller Levoit LV-H132. Now they set the price of our today Levoit Vital 100 to be $119, which is $60 lower than the official price of LV-PUR131. It’s not much of a spoiler to say that the Levoit Vital 100 only keeps the same performance as the Levoit Core 300, and with a starting price tag that’s 20% higher than its predecessor’s, does the Levoit Vital 100 hit the same value sweet spot?
At this price, we can count the Pure Enrichment PureZone, Honeywell HPA100 and InvisiClean Aura as the direct competitors of this Levoit Vital 100. Each device has its own pros and cons, so make sure to check the reviews by clicking upon them.

Levoit air purifier for home with True HEPA filter, Vital 100, White Edition.
Designed in California. 100% ozone free, compact and efficient. CARB Certified, FCC Certified, and ETL Listed.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 DESIGN AND SIZE
Like its immediate console predecessor, the Levoit Vital 100 is designed to be bigger, and it offers the basic look, feel, and feature set of a modern console air purifier in a budget-friendly package.
To that end you get a large, no-base housing, which is clearly inspired from the PureZone of Pure Enrichment. It is still compact with only 16 inches in height, and it is a bit shorter than the Levoit LV-PUR131.
Most prominently of all, you get a brand new bigger top air outlet than any other performers in the same price range. With large parallel air grills, the device is sleek, and it can reduce the overall size of the device.
Levoit Vital 100 still runs the core bottom-to-top air flow system concept, and the air inlet is hidden behind the filter cover. If you want to replace the air filters, make sure to place the filter back into the Levoit Vital 100 with the pull tabs facing out.
For the top control panel, we get only 5 basic functional buttons. The control panel is placed right on edge, which is comfortable to bend down and press at the same time.
Levoit Vital 100 only weighs 9.3 lbs, and you can easily lift and move it around your home.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 FILTERS
The Levoit Vital 100 will come back with the original idea of installing air filters, which means the more air filters, the better. But checking the air purifier more thoroughly, you will see the same 3-stage air cleaning system just like other Levoit air purifiers.
- Pre-filter – This fine preliminary filter is able to capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers, hair, and pet fur.
- True HEPA filter – Levoit Vital 100 uses a True HEPA Filter to reduce 99.97% of as small as 0.3 microns allergens like mites and pet dander, virus particles, mold spores, pollen, germs and bacteria particles.
- Activated Carbon Filter – This Activated Carbon filter adsorb unwanted odors and fume such as cooking smells, smoke, ammonia and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
3-stage air cleaning system is the most popular system in any ozone-free air purifiers. The air filter of Levoit Vital 100 may be smaller than the Levoit LV-PUR131, but it packs the same quality as the more expensive brother.

Again, I made a simple test for the Levoit Vital 100, in a room of 150 square feet and after 1 hour, just like the Levoit Core 300. The device is also tested against the GermGuardian AC5000, Biota Bot MM108 and PureZone in the same price range. As you can see, the Levoit Vital 100 is easily the winner, with the high efficiency of 99.9% for trapping any particles down to 0.3 microns.

The air filter of this new air purifier is named Vital 100-RF, which is only available in Amazon at the time of writing. You should remember to replace the air filter every 6 – 8 months, for the optimal performance and noise reduction of your air purifier.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 ROOM COVERAGE
Levoit does attempt to make an air purifier with at least the same power as the old Levoit LV-PUR131, and I’m happy to use the Levoit Vital 100 in a room of up to 300 square feet.

The ACH of Levoit Vital 100 is 4X. The exact air changes per hour rating of this air purifier is 3.3X at the max speed, which means it can change air 3.3 times per hour.
The CADR of Levoit Vital 100 is 130 cfm in general. It is capable to deal with such suggested room size of the manufacturer, though it is a little bit lower than the CADR rating of Levoit Core 300.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 SOUND
The big feature for Levoit Vital 100, and the key differentiating factor from the whole Levoit family with other air purifier brands in the market like Honeywell or GermGuardian, is the truly quiet operation.
Levoit Vital 100’s lowest noise level, by default, is only 23 decibels. It is just the same as the noise level of the whisper, and you won’t notice any sound from the device.

Even for the highest setting, the Levoit Vital 100 runs with only 50 decibels (db), and it is quieter than most air purifiers in the market.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 POWER CONSUMPTION
An air purifier is designed to run for a long time to be more efficient, making the high-priority question in Breathe Quality is: “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” To know the answer, we will need to check the power consumption of this air purifier.
Levoit Vital 100 needs more power to operate its bigger fan, and the power consumption is measured to be 55 watts, with standby power is less than 0.8 watts.
If you run the Levoit Vital 100 for 8 hours per day, you will need to $20 each year.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 ADDITIONAL FEATURES
As the budget version of the console Levoit LV-PUR131, Levoit Vital 100 doesn’t pack much additional features as the previous model. So to say, we won’t have the high-end Smart Sensor feature in this air purifier.
As a bedroom-centric air purifier, Levoit Vital 100 makes use of a Dimmer setting, to manually turn the display off. You will also get a basic Timer, to schedule off in 2, 4 or 8 hours.

Finally, the Levoit Vital 100 still has a LED indicator for filter replacement. It is a fundamental feature for the air purifier, which is really nice to have.
LEVOIT VITAL 100 CUSTOMER SERVICE
Levoit is a brand that strongly focuses on their customers and community. If you purchase one product from them, they will give all you need to set up and operate it. The negative reviews of bad customer service are nearly non-existent.
There is only one thing, they give an only basic 1-year warranty. To get one another warranty, you need to have some free register. It is easy, and everyone is willing to sign more for another year of warranty. Moreover, you will get a community rewards, which is like loyalty points for your next purchase.

OUR VERDICT
The Levoit Vital 100 is not a clear winner as the immediately previous Levoit Core 300, as it only serves a small base of customers who want a console air purifier. It has good value for the money, with high fan power, high-quality air filtration system and enough additional features to use. However, it is more expensive than the Core 300, which holds us from buying it directly.
